These crispy smash dumplings are the perfect fusion of comfort food and Korean-inspired BBQ flavour. Seasoned with K-Pop Dust, each dumpling is loaded with savoury, flavoursome goodness, balanced by subtle sweetness and a gentle kick of gochugaru chilli. Smashed and pan-fried until golden and crunchy, they deliver that irresistible crispy base that has made smash dumplings a viral favourite.

Quick, easy and packed with flavour, these Korean BBQ dumplings are perfect for weeknight dinners, game-day snacks, entertaining guests or whenever you're craving something a little different. Serve them with your favourite dipping sauce and watch them disappear — they're guaranteed to become a regular in your recipe rotation.

Cook Mode

Ingredients

3 Spring Onions
500g Pork Mince
2 Tbsp K-Pop Dust
1 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
2 tsp Fish Sauce
1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
24 Gyoza/dumpling wrappers
Olive oil or a neutral oil for frying

Directions

Prepare the dumpling mix:
In a large bowl, combine 2/3 of the spring onion (reserve some for garnish), pork mince, K-Pop Dust, soy sauce, fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sesame oil. Mix well until sticky and evenly seasoned.
Assemble the dumplings:
Place a wrapper in your palm.
Spoon about 1 heaped teaspoon of dumpling mix into the centre.
Then SMASH by spreading the mix out to form a thin layer all over the top side of the wrapper.
Fry:
Heat oil in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Place dumplings in the pan, leaving space between each.
Use a spatula to gently press each dumpling down. Cook for about 4 minutes until the pork is cooked through then flip and cook for a further 1 minute until the bases are crisp and golden.
Serve:
Plate hot with your choice of dipping sauce. Sprinkle with extra K-Pop Dust and the reserved spring onion if desired. Also great topped with some crunchy chilli oil for extra heat.

Recipe Note

We serve these drizzled with some crunchy chilli oil, and Bancoora Sesame Crunch. You can also try some Mama Melisse Hot Sauce or mix up a soy based drizzle sauce.
