Cheesy Zeally Meatballs
Get ready for the ultimate comfort bite – juicy meatballs seasoned with our Zeally Seasoning, a Montreal-style blend that packs big, bold flavour. Each ball hides a gooey cheese centre, so when you cut in, you get that perfect melty surprise.
The dill and savoury spices in Zeally bring out a tangy, cheeseburger-style taste, while the smoky pepper notes give the meatballs a chargrilled edge. Bake them, pan-fry, or simmer in sauce – they’re just as at home stacked on pasta as they are skewered for a backyard BBQ snack.
Think cheeseburger meets meatball – salty, juicy, cheesy, and seriously addictive.
Ingredients
-
500g beef mince (or mix beef and pork for extra juiciness)
-
2 Tbsp Zeally Seasoning
-
1 egg, lightly beaten
-
100g block cheddar or mozzarella
-
Olive oil for cooking
Directions
In a large bowl, combine mince, Zeally Seasoning and egg. Mix gently until just combined – don’t overwork, or the meatballs will be tough.
Take a heaped tablespoon of mixture, flatten slightly in your palm, and place a cube of cheese in the centre. Fold the meat mixture around the cheese and roll into a ball. Repeat until all the mix is used.
Choose your cooking method
Pan-fry: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, then reduce heat and cover for 6–8 minutes until cooked through.
Bake: Preheat oven to 200°C. Place meatballs on a lined tray, drizzle lightly with oil, and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
Air fryer: Preheat to 190°C for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with oil (or use baking paper with holes poked in it). Place meatballs in a single layer with a little space between them so the hot air can circulate. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket or turning halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp should hit 74°C if you’re checking).
